SHIRLEY ERNST studied painting and drawing at Binghamton University with Paul Russotto and Angelo Ippolito, at the University of Iowa, and received her BFA at Syracuse University. She also trained as a Montessori teacher, and with her husband opened a Montessori school in Vestal, NY.
