KATHERINE BERNHARDT studied painting at the School of Visual Arts and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She also studied painting at New York University, and liberal arts at the University of Missouri at St. Louis. She received the School of the Art Institute of Chicago Merit Scholarship Award from 1994 - 1997. Her website is at www.teamgal.com under Exhibitions. Katherine Bernhardt says about her work:
My paintings are based on everyday urban styles, for example, the hat that I see the most is the Nike skull cap, that for me is an inspiration for painting. All these everyday clothings and the rap music that I listen to are influences in my art work. My art is a reflection of this culture that we live in today.
