Tina Ingraham
Painter
Tina Ingraham received her MFA from Brooklyn College, where she received a Graduate Teaching Fellowship and The Charles G. Shaw Award and Scholarship, and her BSD degree from the University of Cincinnati. She continued developing and exhibiting her art for fifteen years while raising a family, running a business, and teaching. She has exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the NYU Small Works Shows, and has had solo shows at Randall-Tuttle Fine Art in Woodbury, Connecticut, and Hubert Gallery in NYC where she is currently represented. She has taught at the Maine College of Art and Bowdoin College. Tina Ingraham's awards include the Sally and Milton Avery Fellowship, a Guggenheim fellowship and a grant from The Pollock-Krasner Foundation.
Angelo
Ippolito
Painter
Angelo Ippolito was born in St. Arsenio, Italy. He has had solo exhibitions at Grace Borgenicht Gallery, Binghamton University Art Museum, University of California at Berkeley, Cleveland Art Institute, Bertha Schaefer Gallery, Tanager Gallery, and Galleria della Rotonda in Bergamo, Italy. He has shown in group exhibitions in New York, West Berlin, Rotterdam, the Sao Paolo Bienale, Rome, Milan, London, and in several European tours. Among his awards are a Tiffany Foundation Award in Painting, a Childe Hassam Fund Purchase Award, a Ford Foundation Grant, and a Fulbright Fellowship to Florence, Italy. For more than 20 years, Mr. Ippolito has taught painting at Binghamton University. His work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum of Modern Art in New York, Joseph Hirshhorn Museum, Phillips Gallery, and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C., in other museums, and in numerous corporate, university and private collections in Europe and the U.S.

Joseph

Jody Joseph received her B.A. at the University of Michigan and her J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco. She studied painting at the International School of Art, the San Francisco School of Art, and the Dundas Valley School of Art. She has had one-person and group exhibitions in Ontario, New Orleans, San Francisco, Chicago and Italy. Ms. Joseph has taught at the Dundas Valley School of Art and the California College of Arts and Crafts. She lives and works in Dundas, Ontario.
Judy Koon
Painter
Judy Koon received her MFA at Yale University, having earlier studied at the University of California at Santa Cruz, and at the New York Studio School. In Taiwan, she studied traditional Chinese painting. Ms. Koon has been a visiting artist at Knox College and the Glasgow School of Art. She is currently a Visiting Artist at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she has been teaching since 1986. Her awards and grants include the Faculty Enrichment Grant from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Annette Kode Fulbright Alternate to France, the Ragdale Foundation Residence and Stipend, and the Helen Winternitz Award from Yale University. Ms. Koon has had solo exhibitions in Chicago at the Knox College Gallery, Artemesia Gallery, and the University Club Gallery, and has participated in group exhibitions in Chicago, New York, Connecticut and Hamburg.

Krehbiel
Painter
Yaz Krehbiel was born and raised in Lake Forest, IL, a suburb of Chicago. He attended Dartmouth College where he received a BA and a Bachelors of Engineering. He studied painting and drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA, and the International School of Art. He has worked in Silicon Valley in Marketing and Information Services. Yaz Krehbiel received his MFA in painting from Indiana University where he also taught Color Theory and 2D Design. His work has appeared in the River City Journal, the Dartmouth Magazine, and New American Paintings.
Irving
Kriesberg
Painter
Irving Kriesberg studied at the Chicago Art Institute and at New York University. His awards include a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Fulbright grant, and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, NY State, Ford Foundation, Gottleib Foundation and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. He has had solo exhibitions at Graham Modern Gallery, Dintenfass Gallery, Ingber Gallery, Kumar Gallery (India), the Cincinnati Museum of Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Chicago Art Institute, the Everson Museum, Yale Museum of Art, the Rose Art Museum, and the Jewish Museum. His work is in the Museum of Modern Art, Detroit Institute, Corcoran Gallery, Whitney Museum, Cincinnati Museum and Baltimore Museum. Mr. Kriesberg has taught at Skidmore College, Yale, Columbia, and Washington Universities, and was Director of the State-wide Honors Studio Program of the State University of New York. He has written three books: Looking at Pictures; Art, The Visual Experience; and Working With Color.
John Lees
Painter
John Lees received his BFA and his MFA at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. He has had solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Detroit, Chicago, Boston, London, and is currently represented in New York by Hirschl & Adler Modern. He has received the John Simon Guggenheim Grant and the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. Mr. Lees has taught at Wayne State University, the Vermont Studio School, Bard College, Mt. San Antonio College, the School of Visual Arts, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and presently teaches at the New York Studio School and the State University of New York at New Paltz.

Lerman
Sculptor
Leonid Lerman was born in Odessa, Ukraine, and emigrated to the US in 1980. He obtained his MFA from V.I. Moukhina College of Art and Design in St. Petersburg, Russia. He has received monumental commissions in Russia and the Ukraine, and various commissions from the Reproduction Department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY. Mr. Lerman worked at the Johnson Atelier, and has taught at the NY Sculpture Center, the University of the Arts, the NY Academy of Art, New York University, Brooklyn College, Fashion Institute of Technology, the Art Students League and the NY Academy of Art. His work has been exhibited at the Sculpture Center, PS 1, the Drawing Center, and the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. Mr. Lerman has had one-person shows at CASE Museum of Contemporary Russian Art of NJ, Duke University Museum, Riskin-Sinow Gallery, the Sculpture Center Gallery, and McKee Gallery, where he is currently represented.

Ying Li
Painter
Ying Li was born in Beijing, China. She studied at the Anhui Teachers University, Wuhu, Anhui, China, and received her MFA from Parsons School of Design. She has had solo exhibitions at the Bowery and the Elizabeth Harris Galleries in NY, and at Haverford and Bryn Mawr College. Her group exhibitions include shows at the Maryland Institute College of Art, the New World Arts Center in NY, the Museum at Rochefort-en-Terre in France, the National Academy of Design, Tibor de Nagy Gallery, the National Arts Club, and the National Gallery of Fine Art in China. Ying Li has been a visiting artist or lecturer at Queens College, Rutgers University, Parsons, Muhlenberg and Sarah Lawrence College and has taught at Anhui Teachers University in China, the New School of Social Research in NY, and currently teaches at Haverford College.

Elizabeth
Lyons
Painter
Elizabeth Lyons had solo exhibitions at Ripley Art Centre, and in London at Tudor Barn, Art Space Gallery, Woodlands Art Gallery, and Jablonski Gallery. She has shown in numerous group exhibitions throughout England, including Royal Academy of Arts, Falmouth Art Gallery, Histon Gallery, Bakehouse Gallery, Royal College of Art, and Louise Hallet Gallery. Her work was chosen by Sandra Blow for the "Royal Academician's Choice" exhibition, touring London and Bristol. Her work is in collections in England and abroad, including the Mahler Collection and the Fischer-Verlag Collection. Ms. Lyons has been interviewed on BBC Radio. She has been an artist-in-residence and visiting lecturer at the International School of Art in Umbria, Italy, at Falmouth College of Art, and at Goldsmith's College of Art in London. Elizabeth Lyons passed away in 1994.

McGarrell
Painter
James McGarrell studied painting at Indiana University and at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He received his M.A. at the University of California, Los Angeles, and also worked at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. He has received the Fulbright Grant, the National Institute of Arts and Letters Citation and Grant, a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, and the National Endowment for the Arts Grant. In 1970 he was elected a Correspondent Member of the Academie des Beaux-Arts de L'Institute de France.
Prof. McGarrell has works in the permanent collections of many institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Whitney Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, Centre National d'art et de Culture Georges-Pompidou, Paris, France, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and the St. Louis Art Museum. His work has been exhibited in five Whitney Museum Annuals and Biennials, two Carnegie International Exhibitions, Documenta in Kassel, Germany, and the Venice Biennale. In 1995 Prof. McGarrell received the Jimmy Ernst lifetime achievement award of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He is represented in New York by the George Adams Gallery.
For more than twenty years Prof. McGarrell taught in the graduate painting program at Indiana University. In 1981 he joined the faculty of the Washington University School of Fine Arts in St. Louis where he is now Professor Emeritus. He has taught for shorter terms or served as artist in residence at the University of Utah, Rice University, Arizona State University, the Skowhegan School, the Vermont Studio Center, and Reed, Hollins, and Dartmouth Colleges as well as the International School of Art.

Martin

Knox Martin studied at the Art Students League. He has won a Longview Fellowship, a National Foundation for the Arts grant, and a C.A.P.S. grant. Mr. Martin has had solo exhibitions at Egan Gallery, Jack Gallery, River Gallery, Ingber Gallery, Dubelle Gallery, Grenillon Gallery, Fischbach Gallery, Avant Garde Gallery, Holland-Goldberg Gallery, Gallery Bonino, Arras Gallery, CDS Gallery, and Ken Kalleba Gallery. His work has been exhibited at the Whitney Museum, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Weatherspoon Museum, Byer Museum, and at major art fairs throughout Europe. Mr. Martin's commissions include large exterior wall paintings and murals in New York and abroad. He has taught at Yale University, New York University and the Art Students League.
Ruth
Miller
Painter
Ruth Miller graduated from the University of Missouri with a major in painting. She has taught at Queens College, the University of Hartford, Yale University School of Art at Norfolk, and Parsons School of Design MFA painting program. Since 1973 she has taught painting and drawing at the New York Studio School. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Delaware Art Museum, , and in private collections in the United States and Europe. Ms. Miller has won two Ingram Merrill Awards. She has had solo exhibitions in Delaware, Connecticut and New York, most recently at the New York Studio School and at Bowery Gallery. She has shown in invitational exhibitions at the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, the American Academy of Design and at Maxwell Davidson Gallery in New York, at the North Dakota Museum of Art, and in group exhibitions around the United States.

Pensato
Painter
Joyce Pensato was born in Brooklyn, New York, and studied painting and drawing at the New York Studio School. Ms. Pensato has had solo exhibitions in Dijon, Lyon, Marseilles, Houston, in NY, and in Paris at Galerie Anne de Villepoix, where she is currently represented. She has exhibited in Paris, Lyon, London, Graz, Hamburg, New York, and throughout the US. She was the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a NY Foundation for the Arts Grant, and a grant from the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation. Joyce Pensato divides her time between Brooklyn and Paris.

Petlin
Painter
Irving Petlin studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and at Yale University. He has won a Cassandra Foundation grant and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He has had solo exhibitions at Galerie du Dragon in Paris, Rolf Nelson Gallery, Odyssia Gallery, the Neuberger Museum, Marlborough Gallery, Kent Fine Art, Gallery Rebecca Cooper, and at galleries in London, Brussels, Rome, Turin, Milan, and at the Venice Biennale. Since the sixties, Mr. Petlin has been a leader in artists' political activism, from his role as a founder of Artists and Writers Against the War in Vietnam, to his participation in the Artists' Call Against the U.S. Intervention in Central America. He has taught at Dartmouth College, UCLA, Haifa University, and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Pierce
Painter
Nels Pierce was born in Renton, Washington. He studied at the University of Wisconsin, New York Studio School and received an MFA from Parsons School of Design. He has had solo exhibitions at Farrell-Pollack Gallery in Brooklyn and Spring Studio in New York City and a two man show at Martin-Zambitio Gallery in Seattle, Washington. His work has been shown in group exhibitions in New York City, as well as Bradley Galleries in Milwaukee and Western Carolina University in North Carolina. He has taught painting at Crosby Street Studio in New York City, drawing at Brooklyn College School of Continuing Education, and has guest taught and critiqued at New York Studio School.

Paul Russotto has taught painting and drawing at Parsons School of Design MFA painting program, the New York Studio School and Albany Institute of Art, and has been a visiting artist at Vermont Studio School, Creative Arts Forum, Green Mountain College, and at the International School of Art. He has had solo exhibitions at Kouros and Ingber Galleries in New York, and in Washington DC, Albany NY, and California. He has participated in group and invitational exhibitions in New York, Chicago, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Barcelona and Hong Kong, including the American Academy of Arts and Letters Invitational and the National Academy of Design. His work is in the corporate collections of Ciba-Geigy, General Electric, A.P. Fritz in Zurich, Tokai Bank in Chicago, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum.
Ruggero
Savinio
Painter
Ruggero Savinio was born in Turin into a family of artists: his uncle was Giorgio de Chirico, and his father the painter and writer Alberto Savinio. Ruggero Savinio studied Literature at the University of Rome. He had his first one-man show in 1962 in Milan. He has exhibited his work in more than one hundred private galleries in Rome, Frankfurt, Paris, Chicago and New York, as well as in public spaces, including Salon Grands et Jeune d'aujoud'hui in Paris, and Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. He was awarded the Guggenheim Prize, was named as a member of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome, and has had two one-person exhibits at the Venice Biennale as a representative Italian artist.
Ruggero Savinio has also published four books: L 'eta dell'oro (The golden age), Percorsi della figura (Figure's ways ), Ombra portata (The cast shadow), and Paesaggio con figura (Landscape with figure). His essays, stories and verses have been published in several literary revues. He lives and works in Rome with his wife, the poetess Annelisa Alleva, and their two children.

Ophrah
Shemesh
Painter
Ophrah Shemesh studied with Joseph Hirsch at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. After a solo exhibition in Jerusalem, she came to New York, and studied painting with George McNeil and Nicolas Carone at the New York Studio School. She has shown paintings in three exhibitions there. For three years, Ms. Shemesh was the Program Director of the New York Studio School, where she now teaches drawing and painting.

Southard
Painter
Don Southard received his BFA from the University of Iowa and his MFA from Yale. His awards and honors include the Faculty Enrichment Grant from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Phelps-Berdan Memorial Award from Yale School of Art, and the Ford Foundation Grant. He has had solo exhibitions in Chicago at Artemisia, Rattner, Lyons Wier, and Space Galleries, Kent State and Hampton Universities, and Knox College. Mr. Southard has been a visiting artist and lecturer at American University, Chautauqua Institute, the New York Studio School, the University of Oregon, Knox College, Hampton University, and at Oxbow; since 1987 he has been teaching painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
John T. Spike
Art Historian
John T. Spike is a noted historian of Italian art of the fifteenth through the eighteenth centuries. In 1979, he earned his PhD from Harvard University with a thesis devoted to Mattia Preti, the seventeenth-century painter known as Il Cavalier Calabrese. In recognition of his authoritative studies on Preti, Spike has recently been named an honorary citizen by Taverna, the artist's birthplace. Since 1989, Dr. Spike has been General Editor of The Illustrated Bartsch, the multi-volume compendium of European prints executed before 1750. He is also the author of four of the more than ninety volumes published to date.
In the course of his career, Spike has organized many exhibitions of Italian art and has read lectures at important museum around the world, including the Pinacoteca Nazionale, Bologna; the Galleria degli Uffizi, Florence; the Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth; the Pierpont Morgan Library, New York; the Musée du Louvre, Paris; the Staatsgalerie, Stuttgart; and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. Dr. Spike serves as permanent consultant to the Museo Civico di Taverna, the Museo Civico di Urbania/Casteldurante, and the Cathedral Museum of Molina, Malta. He is the Director of the Biennale Internazionale dell'Arte Contemporanea in Florence.
Dr. Spike has written numerous articles and reviews on a wide range of topics for art historical journals, especially the Burlington Magazine, FMR, Il Giornale dell'Arte and Quadri e Sculture. He has recently published major books on the Florentine Renaissance: Masaccio (Abbeville, 1996) and Fra Angelico (Abbeville, 1997). His books on other Italian subjects include A Connoisseur's Guide to the Met (co-author, Paul Magriel; Random House, 1988) and Fairfield Porter: An American Classic (Harry N. Abrams, 1992).
Since 1989, John Spike has resided in Florence with his wife, Michele, and their son, Nicholas.

Steele
Sculptor
Larry Steele studied with George Spaventa, Philip Guston, David Hare and George McNeil at the New York Studio School. He is currently on the teaching staff of the Johnson Atelier School of Sculpture, where he has worked since 1982, specializing in Sand Foundry, Metal Chasing and Welding. He has also worked at Metal Works, in Maryland, a teaching foundry/metal shop. Mr. Steele has had exhibitions at Vicennes University, Rutgers University, the New Jersey State Museum, the International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art in Birmingham Alabama, ONE MAIN Sculpture Space, 14 Sculptors Gallery, the New York Studio School Gallery, Samuel S. Fleisher Foundation, and the Mellon Bank Building in Pennsylvania. His awards include the Herk Von Tongren Memorial Sculpture Fund Award, Individual Fellowships from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and the Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial Challenge Series.

Thiebaud
Painter
Wayne Thiebaud studied at California State College. He is currently a professor in the Department of Art at University of California at Davis, where he has taught since 1960. He has also taught at Sacramento Junior College, where he chaired the art department in the 1950's, at California School of Fine Arts (now the San Francisco Art Institute), Cornell University, University of Victoria, B.C., Rice University, Colorado State University, University of Utah, Stanford University, Skowhegan School, Laguna Beach School of Art, and the New York Studio School.
Mr. Thiebaud has had solo exhibitions at the Crocker Art Museum, Allan Stone Gallery, M.H. de Young Memorial Museum, Galleria Schwarz in Milan, Stanford Art Museum, Pasadena Art Museum, The Art Museum and Galleries of California State University, Phoenix Art Museum, USA, Walker Art Center, Dickinson College, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Newport Harbor Art Museum, Milwaukee Art Museum, Columbus Museum of Art, and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. He has been a jurist for the Prix de Rome Award Panel for painting, and the National Endowment for the Arts. He has been elected to the National Academy of Design, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. He has received honorary doctorates from three colleges.
Among many other awards, Mr. Thiebaud has won the College Art Association of America's Most Distinguished Studio Teacher of the Year (1980-81) citation, an Award of Distinction from National Art Schools Association, The Cyril Magnin Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in the Arts from San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, and is an Honoree of the American Academy of Achievement. His grants and awards from the University of California, Davis include the Golden Apple Award for Distinguished Teaching, and the Prize for Teaching and Scholarly Achievement.
Susan Walp

Susan Walp studied at Mount Holyoke College, Boston University School of Fine Arts, the New York Studio School, Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and the Brooklyn College MFA Program. Her numerous awards include the Vermont Council on the Arts Grants for Individual Artists, Art Director's Club Award, American Institute of Graphic Arts Award, Society of Illustrators Award, American Illustration Award, New York Creative Arts Public Service Program (CAPS) Fellowship, National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, Barklie McKee Henry Memorial Scholarship, and the Skowhegan Purchase Prize in Drawing. She has taught in the undergraduate and graduate programs at Vermont College of Norwich University, and was Guest Lecturer at Concordia University, Montreal, and Goddard College University and currently teaches at Dartmouth College. Susan Walp is represented by the Fischbach Gallery in New York.

Williamson
Painter
Megan Williamson studied at Knox College and at the New York Studio School. She has exhibited in Chicago at Lyons-Wier Gallery, Phebra Gueche Gallery, NNWAC Gallery, the Harold Washington Library, Form and Function Gallery, and Gallery Great Lakes, in New York at Bowery Gallery and First Street Gallery, and in Umbria at the "Fiera e Festa" Exhibition, and at Galleria ISA. She was awarded a residency at the Ragdale Foundation. Ms. Williamson has lectured at the Massachusetts College of Art in Perugia. Megan Williamson has been a visiting artist at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Jack Zajac
Sculptor
Jack Zajac has won the Rome Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and an award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He has had over 50 solo exhibitions in Rome and Orvieto, London, Honolulu, New York, Boston, Chicago and California, and has shown in as many group exhibitions worldwide. Mr. Zajac's work is in the public collections of the Whitney Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Hirshhorn Gallery, the Milwaukee Art Center, the Israel Museum, and the Honolulu Academy of Arts. He is currently represented by Steven Wirtz Gallery and teaches sculpture at the University of California at Santa Cruz.
